G'day ...
I'm in my early thirties and live in a nice South-Eastern suburb of the City of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia.
I've never driven and never want to. I get public transport everywhere, which suits me fine (and probably saves me a fortune with the rising cost of petrol, not to mention registration, insurance and maintance) and I'm lucky enough to live very close to work, so I ride my bike there and back and save even more money on bus tickets.
Thankfully I think my family have just about given up "encouraging" me to drive.
If anyone wants to ask me anything or to just say hello, please go ahead.
It's good to be here and nice to be in the company of like-minded people.
Regards,
Stuart.

Re: G'day from a non-driver down-under .. (Australia)
Fri, August 29, 2008 - 9:13 PMgood on ya mate! i'm a non-driver from down-down-under (NZ) and i'm in my early thirties too. it sucks how everyone thinks there's something wrong with me if i don't have a car or drive or want to drive. i might have to learn at some stage - because of everyone pressuring me to - including my job and friends. but i'm quite timid. its like i'll be really doing something that doesn't come naturally for me.

Sat, December 13, 2008 - 10:47 PMTake a taxi.I take my girls out by taxi.I say,in case I get tipsy. You can save 2000 pounds in taxi money in about 5 months. And by taxi, you can still save money. After awhile,if she has a car,she can drive you.I refuse to drive but there are some people who just are not good or get nervous and don't want to.You can still get the girls. It can be done.
