Cars and the huge responsibility are taken way too lightly in this day and age. I always lament that the people who value life so little and understand it even less are out there risking everyone else's lives. That goes for amateur pilots, as well. I've lost too many relatives in car accidents. Some to drunk drivers. I was in a bad car accident in 1977 myself, when I let someone else drive. I got out alive, but had two operations. However, it was nothing as devastating as your experience, LisAnne. I admire the way that you aren't letting bitterness tuin your life, but are using it to help others. Brava!
