This is a cool idea for a tribe. I'm married to an adult that doesn't drive. I mentioned it once to someone at the Mill and I got the weirdest looks. Then people pushed me to admit I was just joking. Wow, I realized how much of a car nation we have, but this was psycho.
My grandmother didn't drive either, but I think she liked being waited on....

Re: my non driving SigOth
Wed, November 2, 2005 - 7:51 AMMy mom doesn't drive, so I think it's genetic.
I am a non-driving signifigant other meeself. That is the only reason that I'd want to learn to drive so that I wouldn't be so much like my mom...and relieve my boyfriend of some of the burden.
If only the anxiety were not so strong.
I truely feel like I am unfit to drive a car.
I get behind the wheel and freak out.
I used to try alot when I was younger...pissing off one adult drivers ed teacher and failing drivers test after drivers test.
Now I am 30 and stubborn with my ways.
What's more, my boyfriend is the only person in my household who drives. My other two roommates male non-drivers..both my age or slightly older.
One of them is sorta spazzy and receives a mental disability check.
The other is kinda like me but more confident. I have known him for years..we are both left-handed 30-year-olds with strong ADD traits. He always has different girls drive him around.
At least I am bicycle savvy. -

Fri, January 18, 2008 - 7:04 PMThat's funny. I don't drive and my older child hates it and only drives if absolutely necessary. I wonder if it could be genetic?
